Jeffrey Stewart | CEO/President, Chief Architect, Board Member, Founder
Jeffrey leads the design, testing, and ramp-up of manufacturing of the ventilator. A bioengineer and entrepreneur, Jeffrey founded Bio-Med Devices, a leader in mobile ICU ventilators. He conceived, designed, developed and brought to market the FDA-cleared Bio-Med Devices MVP-10, P-7, IC-2A, Crossvent 2, Crossvent 3 and Crossvent 4 ventilators and M-1, M-2 and M-10 respiratory monitors. Jeffrey’s skills, knowledge and entrepreneurial experience in developing, manufacturing and selling FDA-cleared ventilators is directly relevant to the project and its success.
Andrew Chepaitis | Chief Operating Officer, Founder, Board Member
Andrew coordinates resources within the team and engages outside stakeholders for partnerships and sales. He helps to lead the company’s outreach efforts to the health care industry, think tanks, NGO’s and government entities. He has led product development teams for over 20 years. He has served on NIH grant review committees and the alumni boards of not-for-profit organizations. After graduate school, he lived in Guatemala, volunteering in a refugee and peace organization during their civil war. Prior to entrepreneurship, he was an equity research analyst.
Mark Nitzberg | Founder, Board Chair
Mark is a scientist and entrepreneur currently serving as Executive Director of the Center for Human-Compatible AI at the Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research lab, and as a principal investigator with CITRIS. As founding CEO of the Blindsight corporation (acquired by Amazon), Mark developed a series of assistive technologies for low-vision and active aging. He has 30 years’ experience bringing a range of technology products to market. He has a Ph.D. in computer science from Harvard University.
